Can I use oil on my hair extensions?
We do not recommend the use of oils on hair extensions. Oils leave a layer on the hair. At first, this often makes the hair feel soft and smooth, but over time, this layer can suffocate the hair. As a result, nourishing care products, such as a hair mask, are less able to penetrate the hair and the hair also receives less oxygen.
As a result, the extensions can gradually dry out. Unfortunately, once hair extensions are dried out due to a buildup of oils, this cannot be repaired.
Do you feel like your extensions are feeling a little drier? Then we recommend using Redken’s All Soft Mask. Apply the mask to perfectly combed out hair and leave it on overnight. This nourishes the hair intensively from the inside out, leaving it feeling soft, supple and shiny again.
A nourishing mask provides a lasting solution, while oil often provides only a temporary effect and does not address the underlying dryness.
